" A  Picture is Worth a Thousand Words. . ."
. . .so the saying goes.  Regrettably, the majority of those
purported photographs of "UFOs" turn out to be either
that of mistakenly identified objects, or worst- outright
fakes and elaborate hoaxes perpetrated by those with
sinister motives, thus adding to the already highly
controversial and debatable nature of the UFO
phenomenon. . .

The photograph (above) is one of the three photographs shown to me by then Chief astronomer SIMEON V. INCIONG at the PAGASA Observatory in Diliman, Q.C., while conducting an investigation on that particular case,

The photos show what was purportedly a "ball of light" in the sky allegedly taken by one HERNAN CARTAGENA, a commercial photographer, and a resident (then) of 815 Aurora Blvd., in Cubao, Quezon City.
The photographs were also thereafter published in a national daily in March of 1986.

Further investigation pursued by Field Investigator Edwin V. Gatia  failed when the alleged photographer-witness could not be located in his supposed residence.

Photographs of a purported anomalous aerial phenomenon (UFO) that was observed in the western sky over Manila Bay at around 7:30 in the evening taken by a photo-journalist, ERNIE SARMIENTO of the local tabloid, People's Tonight Journal.

Photo (at top left) was taken while the object was reportedly "exuding various colors of light", then (top right) as the object started moving out of view.
The photos were taken with a Nikon 50 - 300 mm zoom lens with a speed of 1/15 of a second at full aperture on a Kodak Tri-X film.
The purported UFO photos were published on 30-September 1986 in the local national tabloid, People's Tonight Journal.

  • The Rex Heflin photo

  • The Trinidade Island photo

  • The objects over Yungay, Peru

The PARADIGM RESEARCH GROUP has their own complilation of some of what they have considered as the best photographic mateirials on the web that invariably support the belief on the physical reality of the UFO phenomenon.
