"BLINKING REDDISH OBJECT OVER LAOAG CITY"
A former Maor of the town of Bacnotan in the Province of La Union, and two others fhave claimed to
have purportedly seen an unidentified flying object (UFO) in the town of Pasquin, City of Laoag (Province of Ilocos Norte)
while on vacation there a week ago.
Ex-mayor ALFREDO DACANAY, his daughter MRS. ROMELIA D. VERGARA, said they
saw the object in the sky south of Pasuquin at around 10:30 in the evening of 17 - April / 1979.
Dacanay said the luminnous object, while immobile in the sky for about 5 minutes, "was blinking softly reddish
light, then it moved, disappearing in the night."
The ex-mayor said they had to keep the sighting of the "phenomenon" to themselves for days making sure it
was something different they saw, later talked about it out in the face of proliferating UFO sightings in other parts of the
country.
In Pasuquin they stayed in the family house of Dacanay's son-in-law Virgilio Vergara. That evening
Dacanay was about to brush his teeth when he saw the object and called on Romelia and Consuelo to share with him the "unusual
sight."
