THE REPORT

Two engineering students from (the town of) Polangui, (Province of) Albay), were horrified when an unidentified object similar to a "flying saucer" landed near the ricefield of their relative in that town the other night (01-June/ 1984?).

ESTEVE OPIDA, 22 and RENATO MEBERTA, 25, claimed the unidentified flying object (UFO) was glittering with colorful lights and the sound of its "engine" was similar to the humming of bees.

The alleged "space ship" stayed for at least 10 minutes in the ricefield, forcing the two to seek cover behind thick bushes.  Moments later, the object flew up the sky, leaving thick smoke in the area, they said.
The two estimated that the "ship" traveled "thrice the speed of sound".

When it disappeared in the sky, they said they went closer to the place where it landed and saw prints of a "tripod" there.   They relayed the sighting to the local authorities.

Lt.Col. Madela said the object hovered over the town for several minutes and emitted colors of blue, red, green, and white.  He said it was the first time that residents and townsfolks in the area have seen such kind of object.
